What makes you hopeful about Durban’s future?
On the ground the people are hungry and positive to be people of change and growth. Having dealt with City there is a lot of goodwill and desire for eThekwini to deliver excellence and be the city of choice.
How do you see your sector contributing to Durban’s economic revival?
The manufacturing sector plays a vital role in linking and servicing different industries, we desire for products and services to be manufactured locally to assist in supply chain excellence as well as attract and service foreign investment and OEM’s to make the pie bigger. A rising tide lifts all boats.
Why should professionals or business owners in your industry consider joining this movement?
As a movement we believe in the economics of mutuality so that All Shall Prosper. As the manufacturing sector action team based near the biggest port in Africa, we believe in being a lever for growth, facilitation of local and international trade as well as a sector of excellence so that eThekwini will be the city region of choice for investors and citizens alike.
